Hi there bookworms and welcome to another WWW Wednesday post!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
For those who don’t know, the three W’s are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you finish reading recently?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling; 70%
A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout; I’ve made pretty good progress with this over the past couple of weeks but with so many tour reads to catch up on I just haven’t been able to focus on it as much as I would like. I am halfway through at the moment and really enjoying it.
Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart ; I am reading this with TWR gang and so far we all seem to be sharing a similar opinion. I am around 1/3 of the way into it and there seems to be a lot of politics and world building and not a whole lot else. It’s quite confusing with very long, descriptive sentences that just feel like too much. I feel like this book is trying way too hard and that makes it tough to get into. I am still hoping it will turn out to be good though.
Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett; For my Discworld buddy read this month! This is the 3rd book and I have to say that I am enjoying this one a lot more than the first two. It is still not laugh out loud funny for me but it is a lot easier to read… it feels less disjointed and random which is definitely good. I’m about 1/3 into this one as well and hoping to finish by the end of the month.
The Invisible Tightrope by Robert Haywood; I am reading this for a bookstagram tour and I am really gutted to say that this is not what I wanted it to be at all. I have almost DNF’d this book so many times and I am actually mostly skimming my way to the end now. The concept was great but the writing to me is awful.
Blood Like Magic by Liselle Sambury; My tour date for this one is not actually until early July but I decided to start it simply because The Invisible Tightrope ended up being such a huge slog and I needed something better. This one sucked me into the world from the start and although I am only about 100 pages in I can tell that I am really going to love this one.
The Maidens by Alex Michaelides; I absolutely loved this book. A thriller with an ominous, gothic atmosphere and a bit of Greek mythology to add that extra bit of spice! You can check out my review here!
Tremendous Things by Susin Nielson; It’s hard to put into words how much I loved this heart-warming, hilarious coming of age book. You can read my review for it here!
Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim; Yes, I know another blog tour! I could not resist signing up when this one dropped into my inbox. So excited to get started!
The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout; I will definitely be diving into this one once I have finished book two.
