♥ Sunday Update ♥

Hi bookworms, happy Sunday! I hope you are all safe, well and enjoying your weekend so far.

It’s probably the most positive Sunday update I have had to share in a while and amazingly enough nothing dramatic has happened this week at all.

No one has been sick and everything has gone smoothly in general.

The weather has been lovely and I have nothing to complain about whatsoever! That makes a change, I know!

So this update is a little bit late today and my arms are aching as I type this because I finally went for my first swim in over 7 months. The gyms reopened on Monday but there was a whole big mess about with unfreezing my membership because I had changed banks since it had been closed but that’s all sorted now and I was so glad that I went even though I am really, really feeling it now! Before Covid I swam pretty much every day for 45 minutes-1 hour and considered myself to be pretty fit. I was a bit embarrassed by my performance today but it is was not unexpected! I managed to swim 45 lengths in 45 minutes compared to my usual 60 but I did have to keep stopping and starting and my arms and legs hurt so much! I am only going to be going 4 times per week going forwards because I just can’t fit it in every day the way that I used to but I am hoping that I will see my fitness levels improve back to pre-covid levels soon enough!

My reading week has been pretty good and I have managed to finish 4 books since my last Sunday update. I really, really enjoyed A Black Widow’s Web by Phil Martin and I basically read it in a day, it was a fantastic and gripping story. I am on the blog tour and my date is the 22nd so ill be sharing my full review on that date!

I also read yesterday that the 9th Outlander book now finally has a release date which is amazing, I couldn’t be more excited as I love these books so much!

I’m not sure what ill be doing with the rest of today. I have just started The Prison Healer so hoping ill be able to get through a few chapters of that and if the weather stays nice and sunny I might go and wash my car because it’s absolutely disgusting! Have a wonderful weekend everyone and thanks for checking in!

  1. So glad you’ve had a great week, I used to swim before lockdown aswell but haven’t been able to go since they’ve opened as it’s so busy there hoping to get there next week I also used to swim 60 lengths .

    1. It’s crazy how hard it was when I am used to it being so easy! I hope you manage to get back soon, it’s busy but since its limited its not as bad as it could be!

  2. Glad your week has been a good one! I also managed to read four books and I loved all but one, haha. Hopefully this coming week will be just as good for you!

    1. Thank you! I loved all my books this week which makes a change! I’ve made a good start on The Prison Healer too and so far so good! Here’s hoping we both have a great week ahead!

    1. It’s amazing to be able to go again! Honestly it’s my happy place and I just hope it won’t take too long for me to lose the weight I’ve put on and get back to where I was before fitness-wise!

  3. Funnily enough, I am now more fit than before covid, as I started doing yoga at home 🙂 the gyms are still not open right now, but I wonder how I’d feel about going to one. I’m kind of unused to people anymore at this point!

    1. It was so weird being around people again! Only 5 people per lane though so it wasn’t too busy at all and there was plenty of room for everyone! I am useless at doing any kind of work out at home!
