Hello and welcome to another Goodreads Monday!

This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners and it invites you to pick a book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it. Easy peasy!

I have a huge “want to read” list on goodreads at the moment so ill be using a random number generator to pick one from the list to talk about. So without further ado….

The magic number is 47! Which means that the featured book this week is  The Iron King by Julie Kagawa . Currently rated 3.89 based on over 200,000 reviews and was  published in January 2010.

If you enjoy what I am doing with my blog then you can support me by shopping on Amazon via my affiliate links. Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she’s known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth – that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she’ll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil, no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

Why do I want to read it?

I am actually embarrassed by how long this has been on my tbr. I want to read it because it looks to have everything that I like about a YA fantasy. It’s really popular though and I do tend to put off the really popular ones for fear of the hype and the disappointment. I really do need to get around to this series asap!

Have you read The Iron King? Do you have it on your TBR as well? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! ♥
