WWW Wednesday 13th January 2021

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

I’ve seen a few of my fellow bloggers doing this and it looked like a fun post to write. So here I am, joining in for the first time!

For those who don’t know, the three W’s are:

  • What are you currently reading?

  • What did you finish reading recently?

  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Any purchases made via my Amazon affiliate links will result in me being paid a small commission. This support helps me to pay for my blog running costs and is always appreciated but never expected. You can view my Amazon Influencer page **HERE** to browse all the books that I recommend.

What are you currently reading?

harry potter and the chamber of secrets by j.k. rowling

pine by francine toonthursday murder club by richard osman

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling – I have read this series so many times and it never, ever gets old. When I decided to do yet another re-read of Harry Potter I decided since I had lots of Audible credits built up that I would buy the entire set and listen to them in bed when it’s time to go to sleep. I am managing about 45 minutes every night and the narration by Stephen Fry is just absolutely excellent. I am really enjoying listening to the audiobooks and I am almost ready to move onto The Prisoner of Azkaban!

Pine by Francine Toon – I just started this kindle book last night and am only a couple of chapters in so far. It is set in Scotland and so far it seems very eerie and gothic which I like! We’ll see how it all pans out. It’s only a short book so I expect ill be done with it in a day or so.

The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman – I’ve been listening to this one for about a week now while walking the dog. It has a lot of laugh out loud moments (anyone who sees me out walking must think that I am off my head, randomly chuckling to myself). In terms of story though I can’t say that I am all that invested in what’s happening. It is entertaining enough to listen to but definitely not “un-putdownable”.

What did you finish reading recently?

In the last week I have managed to finish two ARCs from my Netgalley shelf as well as a brand new release that I just couldn’t wait to read.

this golden flame by emily victoria the lake by louise sharland

This Golden Flame by Emily Victoria – I really, really enjoyed reading this. I expected to like it but it actually surpassed my expectations. The story was unique and interesting and the characters were interesting and likable! You can read my full review for this book here.

The Lake by Louise Sharland – This was a decent read but wasn’t the gripping, page turner that I felt it could have been. You can read my review for this book here.

The Push by Ashley Audrain – My first 5 star read of 2021. I don’t have a bad thing to say about this book. It was dark, it was thrilling and it is a story that will stay with me for a long time. You can read my review for this book here.

What do you think you will read next?

these violent delights by chloe gong invisible life of addie larue v.e. shwab

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong – I just received this beautiful hardback and I think it is going to have to be one of my next reads. I have seen a lot of people talking about it and I really want to experience it for myself.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab – I think that as soon as I have finished The Thursday Murder Club that this is going to be my next audiobook. I have had it sitting, downloaded in my Audible library for nearly two months and I’ve not listened to it because I couldn’t decide whether I would prefer to actually read it but the longer I keep putting it off the more I feel like I am missing out on what I think is going to be a five star read.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling – I am in the very last chapter of Chamber of Secrets now. This for me is where the series starts to get amazing. The books only keep getting better and I am so excited to experience them all over again!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my very first WWW Wednesday post. Feel free to drop a comment or a like and let me know if you’ve read any of these books, share your thoughts!

    1. I have heard such amazing things about Addie Larue and if it’s as good as I think ill probably pick up the book after finishing with the audio so I can read it as well! 😀

  1. Harry Potter will always hold a special place in my heart! The Push looks really good. I am currently reading Black, White, and The Grey by Mashama Bailey.

  2. Welcome to WWW! Hope you enjoy doing the meme. 😀 I always love seeing what everyone else is reading.

Oooh, I’ve heard a little about Pine but haven’t really looked into it. I’ll be curious what you think! So far, eerie, Gothic, and set in Scotland sounds absolutely perfect!

I think I’ll be picking up The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, too. I keep seeing people raving about it, and I’m really feeling like I’m missing out, too. xD Enjoy your reading!

    1. Thank you! I had fun writing this one so ill definitely be doing it each week and maybe looking at some others that I can take part in as well. I had never realised all the fun, bookish things I could do with a blog and I am having the best time with it!
I finished Pine on Thursday night (I think? All my days are rolling into one at the moment). I really didn’t love it in all honesty and I did post a review with my thoughts if you wanted to take a look at some point. Addie Larue is my next audiobook and I am super excited for that one!
